1. Human Genetics

3. Messing with human genetics can have harmful affects when implanted into another human being because they will create imbalance. The act of genetic splicing can have harmful affects on the patient in the future.

    3. Summarize the central idea of the overview in one or two sentences. There have been severe droughts in California restricting farming and nothing can be done. Drought in California affect the ecosystem and could cause endangered species to become extinct.
    4.List two to four specific details that support the central idea. California is a top farm state and produces one third of vegetables in the U.S. Wildfires are becoming more and more frequent in California because of the droughts that are occurring.

    3. Summarize the central idea of the overview in one or two sentences. Air pollution is changing the climate and needs to be stopped before permanent damage is done. Outdoor air pollution has already lead to the deaths of 3.7 million people.
    4. List two to four specific details that support the central idea. By smoking cigarettes people pollute the air as well as by using cooking devices.

    1. What is the topic you are reading about? The topic I am reading about is water pollution.

    3. Summarize the central idea. The article is about the water supplies diminishing due to a lack of precautions to keep water clean. Water covers most of the world but most of it is either salt water or polluted, in a couple of years there would be no water left.
    4. List two to four specific details that support the central idea. Industrialization causes pollution to seep into the environment through toxic sludge and dangerous chemicals. People as individuals can help to put an end to pollution by reducing the amount of fertilizers used in gardens  and lawns.
    5. Create an opportunity for further research by writing down two questions the text raises about the central idea (explicitly or implicitly). Explicit means stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for confusion or doubt, while implicit means implied though not plainly expressed.  What had been done since 1987 to help conserve water? ; What countries can the U.S work with to make a huge impact on ending pollution reaching water?

    7.Next, write down what may be preventing you from understanding it (is it an unrecognizable term? an unfamiliar person, place, or allusion?) I am unfamiliar with what these chemicals are.

Write it down. Nitrites are families of chemical compounds containing atoms of nitrogen and oxygen and Phosphates are essential to the growth of biological organisms, including both their metabolic and photosynthetic processes.

    11. The subject I enjoy the most is english because I enjoy reading and writing my own stories and learning new words.
    12. My favorite hobby or pastime is riding my bike bike because it is very relaxing to ride on my bike near the beach without any worries.
    13. If I won the lottery , I would use the money to buy a new computer because mine is too slow and tends to turn off randomly.
    14.The type of volunteer activity I prefer is working with kids because they look up to you and respect you.
    15.My favorite school subject has always been english because it has always come easy to me and I can relax in that class.
    16.If I ran the world, the first thing I would change would be to end all wars because then peace would be made and problems would be solved through discussion.
